About FIST Gym
The story of a small martial arts room that became Quezon City's most respected combat sports community.
The FIST Origin
FIST Gym — short for Fitness & Self-Defense Techniques — was established in 2011 in Timog Avenue, Quezon City. What began as a dedicated space for martial arts training has evolved into a full-spectrum combat sports gym serving students of all ages and backgrounds.
The gym was built on a simple but powerful philosophy: that martial arts develop more than physical capability. Every class is designed to sharpen the mind, build real-world confidence, and forge the kind of character that carries over into every aspect of life.
Today FIST houses six disciplines under one roof — Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Judo, and Kali (Arnis) — taught by coaches who compete at national and international levels. The gym is located at Suite 301, Gil-Preciosa Bldg. 2, Timog Avenue, making it easily accessible to students from across Metro Manila.
Our Philosophy
Brains
Martial arts are as much a mental pursuit as a physical one. We teach students to read situations, problem-solve under pressure, and develop the strategic thinking that great fighters and great people share.
Brawn
Physical conditioning is the foundation of every discipline we teach. FIST training builds functional strength, cardio endurance, flexibility, and the body awareness that carries over into daily life and sport.
Heart
The FIST community is what makes the gym. Showing up on the hard days, supporting teammates at competitions, and welcoming every new student — that heart and culture is non-negotiable here.
Our Values
Discipline Over Motivation
Motivation fluctuates. Discipline — the commitment to show up and train even when it's uncomfortable — is what produces real growth and lasting results.
Respect on the Mats
Everyone who trains at FIST — from white belt to black belt, beginner to champion — is treated with equal respect. The mats are a leveler, not a hierarchy.
Technical Excellence
We prioritize correct technique over brute force. Understanding the "why" behind every movement leads to safer, more effective, and longer martial arts journeys.
Community First
FIST students cheer for each other at competitions, celebrate promotions together, and train through tough times as a unit. The crew is the product.
Open to All
Men, women, kids, adults — complete beginners and seasoned competitors are all welcome. There is no required fitness level to walk through FIST's door for the first time.
